designed to allow you to store and share bookmarks on the Web, instead
of inside your browser. This has several advantages. You can:
This del.icio.us Bookmarks extension enhances the old Firefox bookmarking system with a new set of tools to help you create, manage and search your bookmarks. By importing your old Firefox bookmarks to del.icio.us you will have "all your bookmarks in one place", and your Firefox bookmarks will now be synced with del.icio.us. This means that your bookmarks will be instantly accessible both in your Firefox browser and from the del.icio.us website. To access all your bookmarks from another computer simply go to your bookmarks on delicious.
Please note that importing your old bookmarks to del.icio.us can sometimes take some time. So if you are still waiting for your old bookmarks to appear in the del.icio.us Menu, don't panic. We will notify you with a pop-up message when the import is complete.
To start with the del.icio.us you need to register so you can store all your book marks on the delicious site. This way students can access their bookmarks from any computer and edit them.
The del.icio.us Bookmarks extension enhances your bookmarking experience with a new Firefox menu that gives you access to all of the features of del.icio.us. From the menu you can bookmark the page you're on or pull up the "Sidebar" so you can search or browse your bookmarks.
A tag is simply a word you use to describe a bookmark. Unlike folders, you make up tags when you need them and you can use as many as you like. The result is a better way to organize your bookmarks and a great way to discover interesting things on the Web.
To search or browse all of your bookmarks, just click the del.icio.us logo. A drop-down menu will appear that enables you to search your bookmarks as well as browse them by name or tag. You can browse these lists manually, or you can instantly search them by typing in the 'Search' box. The drop-down menu can also be docked as a sidebar.
To make a new bookmark, just click the 'Tag' icon or press Control-D. You can add tags and notes, or just hit save and you're done.
All your bookmarks will be instantly accessible both in your Firefox browser and from the del.icio.us website. This means that any changes you make to your bookmarks in either location will be synchronized. For example adding or delete bookmark in Firefox will add or delete it from your account in del.icio.us. This also means that you will be able to access all your bookmarks from any computer by going to your bookmarks on delicious.
The new del.icio.us bookmarks toolbar gives you quick access to your favorite tags and bookmarks. Your favorite tags show up in both the toolbar and the Bookmarks menu.

The del.icio.us icon in the toolbar has a drop-down menu that allows you to switch between the two different toolbar views (see below), Manage Favorite Tags, Manage Bundles, and navigate to your bookmarks on del.icio.us.
